La Material Girl y la Showgirl se enfrentan cara a cara en los MTV Video Music Awards de este año.
Madonna encabeza la lista de nominaciones de este 2026 con un total de 11 candidaturas, incluyendo Video del Año, Artista del Año y Canción del Año, según informó The Associated Press. Desde que irrumpió en la escena musical en la década de 1980, la reina del pop acumula 19 estatuillas de los MTV VMA y en 1986 recibió el codiciado premio Video Vanguard, convirtiéndose en la primera artista solista femenina en lograrlo.
Por su parte, Taylor Swift ocupa el segundo lugar con nueve nominaciones. Si logra llevarse aunque sea un galardón a casa, se convertirá oficialmente en la artista más premiada en la historia de los VMA, superando el empate de 30 premios que mantiene actualmente con Beyoncé. Swift también compite en las categorías de Video del Año y Artista del Año.
Un paso más atrás, Ariana Grande y Sabrina Carpenter pisan fuerte con siete nominaciones cada una.
La gala de entrega de premios se transmitirá en vivo desde Los Ángeles el próximo 27 de septiembre.
