CLENDENIN, W. Va. — A woman who broke into a chicken coop where two people were living was stabbed, but is also facing charges.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said Anna Groves of Clendenin, West Virginia, forced her way into the chicken coop and was confronted by one of the people who were living inside, WKRC reported.
Groves was stabbed, deputies said.
They had been called to a disturbance on March 31 and found a man and his daughter, with the man saying he had heard a woman threaten him as he walked back to the coop.
The man’s daughter told officials that she had been sleeping inside the structure when two people, identified as Anna Groves and Jason Groves, tried to get inside. Officials said the daughter pulled out a knife and stabbed Anna Groves.
Both Anna Groves and Jason Groves left the site before deputies arrived, but later were told by the Charleston Police Department that a stabbing victim had arrived at a hospital.
Officials said Anna Groves was interviewed and told them she went to the chicken coop to confront the man’s daughter about money she believed had been taken. She said she intended to beat the woman, but did not make a death threat.
Anna Groves was charged with felony burglary and a warrant was issued for her arrest, WOWK reported.
The woman who allegedly stabbed Anna Groves was not charged, WSAZ reported.
